Gene Tsiknis has over 15 years of experience in graphic design and has been involved in multiple aspects of the print production and promotional item industry. From “behind the scenes” creating logos to hands-on operation of printing machinery, he contributed to numerous marketing campaigns, including several Fortune 500 companies.
Gene’s interest in computers began as a child by watching his uncle build computers for friends and family. As a teenager, he enjoyed drawing, tinkering with computers, and enhancing antique photographs in his spare time. His specialty was restoring damaged or torn photos while keeping the traditional vintage feel of the original. Gene’s passion for photography, drawing and photo restoration led him to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Art and Design from Fairleigh Dickinson University. His extensive coursework at the University included business management, painting, photography, computer animation, video editing, and graphic and web design.
During college, Gene sharpened his graphic design skills by designing flyers, advertisements, postcards and business cards for small, local businesses. He enjoyed working directly with business owners and brainstorming creative marketing materials within their budget. After college, Gene landed a job as a graphic designer for a promotional product company, Here, he had the opportunity to learn about the production aspect of graphic design. Although his main priorities were client relations, artwork recreation and logo design, he could frequently be found in production setting up, overseeing and fixing printers and machinery.
Gene’s next job was as the operations manager of a startup specializing in business networking. Along with providing graphic design services, he coordinated overseas production with the Manhattan based headquarters to deliver high-end quality products and services to clients worldwide. After a couple of years, Gene decided to part ways and forge his own path forward. Dedicated to keeping his skill set sharp and relevant, he earned certifications in Adobe CS6 InDesign, web design and development, and WordPress. Armed with 13 years of experience and embracing the entrepreneurial nature of his father, Gene decided to enter the small business world again, this time as the owner/operator of his own graphic design company.
In April 2015, Graphic Titans was officially launched. In today’s digital world, Gene believes it’s important to create a personal connection with each and every client. Using his vast knowledge, skills and experience, Gene is ready to assist his clients through every step of the process, from inception to the final product.
